Congressman Carlos Curbelo

Former Republican Congressman

Curbelo – who represented Florida’s 26th district – was elected to Congress in 2014, where he served until 2019. Consistently ranked as one of the most bipartisan members of congress, he introduced legislation with fellow 97Percent board member Congressman Seth Moulton to ban bump stocks, as well as no-fly, no-buy legislation following the Pulse nightclub shooting. Curbelo now serves as an on-air analyst for NBC News, MSNBC, and Telemundo, among others.

“I’m tired of this being a partisan issue. There are common-sense solutions that will save lives in our country, and I like the approach 97Percent is taking: involving gun owners. The research they’re conducting is really important to making progress on this intractable issue.” – Carlos Curbelo
